An Innovative Approach to Retirement Living

An Innovative Approach to Retirement Living

Universally Designed Retirement Living

One of the features that sets Vivid Living apart is its adherence to Lifemark design standards. Lifemark was engaged from the beginning to consult on the project design and continued to provide input throughout the process.

The result is that the villas boast a high level of workmanship and are safe and usable for all ages and stages.

The light-filled designs offer a sense of flow that can be easily adapted to changing needs and have a range of practical features including slip-resistant flooring, level door thresholds and spacious rooms and hallways.

By combining these features with support and care options tailored to individuals, the Vivid Living offering will support its residents to live independently.

“We have worked with Fletcher Building on other projects since 2015 and it is an honour to be part of this significant step into the retirement sector,” says Lifemark General Manager Geoff Penrose. “Vivid Living is certainly ahead of its time.”

For the Vivid Living team, the choice to build to Lifemark standards was a no-brainer.

“We love that Lifemark homes are easy to live in – for a lifetime. It fits perfectly with what is at the heart of what we’re doing, and that is to make sure our homes are usable for our diverse range of customers, today and into the future,” says Gemma Gloyne, Head of Retirement Vivid Living. “We really value that having a Lifemark star rating means that our residents can have peace of mind knowing their home will suit them for years to come.”

A Community for All

Another unique characteristic of the Vivid Living model is its focus on community – a crucial component that has been shown to support people to age in place. Vivid Living believes that retiring from work is not retiring from life, and its retirement villages are designed to facilitate more time with friends and family.

The developments, including the one at Red Beach, are built within existing Fletcher Living neighbourhoods. This creates a sense of togetherness that allows residents to remain integrated with the rest of the community and have access to local amenities and social connection right on their doorstep.

“We’ve had amazing feedback from the customers who have visited our Vivid Living Display Homes and the village at Red Beach! We’re really proud that the general consensus echoes our belief that the design, build and quality of the homes is very high,” says Gloyne. “The thoughtfulness that has gone into both the Lifemark design outcomes and our 7 Homestar sustainability rating has been really well received by our customers.”
